Minor in American Sign Language
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) offers undergraduate students the opportunity to earn minor in American Sign Language by taking:
- SPA 3612: Basic ASL
- SPA 613: Intermediate ASL
- SPA 4614: Advanced ASL
- SPA 3633: American Deaf Culture; and
- One of the following:
- SPA 4615: American Sign Language IV
- SPA 4617: Structure of Sign Language
Students transferring credit hours toward a minor in ASL must complete 12 ASL credit hours within the CSD Department at USF.
A total of 19 credit hours and a GPA of 2.0 or better must be achieved in minor coursework in order for a student to be certified for graduation with a minor in American Sign Language.
Students completing required courses may declare the minor when completing the application for graduation during the final semester of study.
