Admission criteria

  • Undergraduate degree in any major.
    • You do not need to have any background in communication disorders to apply to the program.   The AuD curriculum is comprehensive and covers all of the knowledge and skill areas required for audiology licensure.
    • If you come from a non-CSD background, you may be required to add 3-4 courses to your program. These additional requirements will be determined by your faculty advisor when you enter the AuD program.   Most students with non-CSD backgrounds are able to add these courses without extending their time in the program.

  • GPA of 3.0 or above for the last 60 hours of coursework completed.
    • This is a minimum criterion, and most students admitted to the program have a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

  • GRE scores at the 33rd percentile for Verbal, Quantitative and Writing subtests.
    • Students with lower scores may be offered admission on a conditional basis.  (Students admitted with conditional status will achieve full admission status after successful completion of the first semester Au.D. coursework.)

Transferring from Another Program

Students seeking to change their graduate program must reapply for admission to another program within the Department or University. Students may not transfer from one program to another without the completion of internal program transfer forms and approval by appropriate admissions committees.
